Living By Faith

"Years ago before I entered the seminary, life was not going the way I knew it could. I was working too many hours for too little pay, pushing myself too hard, and not able to make ends meet. I had to change. I got still, and concluded that I needed to live my life by faith. If I was going to minister to anyone else, I needed to live the beliefs I preached.

Faith is often misunderstood to imply passivity. Nothing could be further from the truth. Action is essential. But action must be guided from the place within that connects to the greatness of Existence.

The greatest discoveries begin when we become willing to be who we truly are. When we relinquish the control of our egos and connect with the deeper place inside, we move forward from the best of who we can be. It is only by following this innermost essence that we begin to align ourselves with our higher purposes--purposes not dictated to us by any other, but a purpose we discover for ourselves, finding it only when we start to answer the question, 'Who am I?'"
